“You have to recognize when opportunities show up.  You have to be able to see them and you have to be able to accept them. ”
-Hang Black

Hang has been there, done that, and come back with some valuable perspectives so we can all learn from her experiences. Her mission is to speak to women who have been unseen, and minorities who have been unheard, so they feel empowered to celebrate their unique identity.

Hang began her career as a process engineer at AMD where she earned multiple patents in semiconductor manufacturing. She then moved over to Cisco as a Technical Marketing Engineer, adding product management, marketing and sales to her skill set. Hang left Cisco to start her own company as a sales and marketing consultant where she was nicknamed “Black Ops” for her cutting edge solutions in field marketing, marketing ops, sales ops, and sales enablement. She also led worldwide sales enablement programs at cybersecurity company, Gigamon, and unified communications provider, 8×8.

Author of Embrace Your Edge, Hang is a global speaker on sales, leadership, and a passionate advocate for women in the workplace. That is why it was our pleasure to feature her in the episode being released on International Women’s Day! A day to celebrate all our Tech Divas!

We start the discussion about what it really means to have access and the limitations of the meritocracy system designed with limitations for women. Hang uses a wonderful analogy of heading to the summit with some people having an express lane to the top. How can you overcome this challenge and rise with your talents?

We touch on ambition and the multiple aspects it brings to the team. Some people love a hard worker, while others resent it. As Hang says, sometimes you have to let go of good to make room great. What will it take for you to make that decision and how long will you wait?

Listen in to this wonderful conversation where Hang continues to inspire Tech Divas to pave their own path to any destination you choose on your own merits, on your own terms, with dignity and authenticity.

In this episode, we discuss:

💎 Real definition of minority

💎 Importance of access and sharing it when you get it

💎 Setting up for success on your terms

💎 C-L-E-A-R method to own your career
