Jack Canfield: Set Goals, Accept Feedback, Take Action

Tech Diva Success is on a mission to spark tech diva success for women in technology. This podcast is part 2 with Jack Canfield is America’s #1 Success Coach, co creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and leader of a training company sharing these proven success principles. In this episode, we go beyond fundamentals and talk about the importance of setting goals. The most successful people set goals that are SMART. Then, we talk about the power of feedback and asking for what you want. The strongest message in this episode is taking action. This is a timeless episode and provides key reminders that can make you 1% better everyday with each ACTION you take towards your goals.

“I talk about this thing called SHELF esteem. The more books you have read on your shelf, but you aren’t doing anything. So we want you to have self esteem by taking the action, having the result, and experiencing success.  ” -Jack Canfield

We started the conversation in the last episode with Jack Canfield talking about really owning your fire and embracing the law of attraction to bring more of what you want in your life. Jack Canfield is a proven success coach and wrote an impactful book called the Success Principles. His work is a huge inspiration for this body of work.

Nothing feels better than reaching your goals. One of my goals at the Chief Tech Diva was to have a conversation with Jack Canfield on a platform to share his vision with women in tech. This show is a testament to goal setting as we are joined with Jack Canfield. Did you know only 3% of people set goals for themselves? High achievers are proven to be that 3%! We are raised with a mixed bag of goal setting in our lives. If you are lucky, you had parents that were big goal setters tend to have kids who also set goals since human nature is that we learn from what we see.

We also talk about goal best practices like building SMART goals that are clear How Much? By When?

S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Time Bound

We also spent time on the power of feedback. We discuss positive and negative feedback as well as how to leverage it to grow and learn from your experiences. There is also some consideration for internal and external feedback that you can give yourself.

Don’t leave the episode before we speak on how to be an “ASKhole” since you have nothing to lose if you just don’t ask. Rejection can be hard, but never asking is even worse. The biggest lesson is saved for last as we look at taking ACTION. Maybe you need an accountability partner or just the encouragement we give you to do it! YOU CAN DO IT!

In this episode, we talk about the following key principles to guide your success:

❤️🔥 Goal Setting
❤️🔥 Feedback
❤️🔥 Asking
❤️🔥 Taking Action

HUGE thanks again to Jack Canfield for this amazing interview and the opportunity to speak with him that I will cherish forever. Enjoy this episode.
