Sarah Epting: Journey from Nonprofit to Tech

Tech divas come from all different backgrounds with all kinds of experience. For Sarah Epting, it may have began as a love for offset printing or helping her friends hook up internet in the dorm, but her story goes beyond that. Sarah took her own experience working at a nonprofit and establishing systems to being a founder. She owned her skills and wasn't afraid to try things. Just a few of the many tips you will hear as she shares wisdom from her career journey. You will leave ready to take action, keep going, and ready to celebrate the community of women in tech.

It's not fake it until you make it. It's own what you know. -Sarah Epting

On this episode, we spend time with Sarah Epting to learn from her experience as a Founder of Technpath with experience bridging technology and the nonprofit space. The beauty of this project is the unique stories and connections we can make. This was a great connection with lots of good considerations pack in the show.

With 10 years of nonprofit management and 5 years of specialized Salesforce Administrator experience, Sarah Epting leverages unprecedented knowledge of the hurdles nonprofits often face. Upon graduating from Georgia State University as an MPA in nonprofit management, she has dedicated herself to aiding nonprofits in their growth with the help of technology. In her role as a nonprofit manager, she often encountered the same issue. Nonprofits frequently stretch their resources thin and failed to take advantage of the available technology to organize their internal systems and improve their fundraising efforts.

She founded Technopath to address the gaps in the industry, leveraging her Salesforce expertise to help nonprofits further their mission. Technopath is a specialized Salesforce consulting and training company. We are firm believers in giving back to the community. Our primary goal is to create a space where individuals and nonprofits can use technology to better themselves and their community.

Sarah and I discuss the confidence gap that hold women back from embracing their own inner tech diva. It can sometimes be little events over time that shape you to grow technical skills for a career in tech. For Sarah, it was starting her own company. She has learned many things along the way and admits she is always adjusting her own goals and growing.

She was brave to take on projects throughout her time to stretch and learn new things. She built communities and went outside her comfort zone to network when she was moving more into the world of tech. She shares more from her journey that you can apply to your life to allow yourself to grow. Reflect on YOUR journey and success. How are you stretching and growing to reach your potential?
